Mariners Dump Garbage on Logan Morrison After Walk-Off Home Run

From Gatorade baths and pies to the face to dunking on a teammate, MLB celebrations had seemingly run the gamut. Seattle Mariners outfielder Nelson Cruz managed to one-up everyone on Friday night, however.

After Logan Morrison hit a walk-off homer in the 11th inning, providing the Mariners with a 4-3 victory over the Oakland Athletics, it was party time. During Morrison’s postgame interview, the Mariners first opted for the traditional Gatorade bath, but Cruz then went rogue.

He dumped all the contents of the dugout trash can all over Morrison. Cups, bottles and wrappers went everywhere as the reporter interviewing the first baseman scrambled away from the line of fire.

To his credit, Morrison wore it like a champ. But hey, after hitting your first-ever walk-off home run, not much can phase you.

Easter Bunny Sabotages Nationals’ Presidential Race with Table Slam

Don’t mess with the Easter Bunny.

In keeping with Opening Day tradition, the Easter Bunny took out Teddy Roosevelt during the Washington Nationals’ Presidents Race with a WWE-style slam off a table.

Not only did the Easter Bunny take out the president, he gave him a cold staredown after.

We’re guessing Teddy won’t be getting a basket full of treats anytime soon.

Minor League Team Cancels ‘2017 Astros World Series Champion’ Ring Giveaway

The Fresno Grizzlies have a lot of confidence in their MLB affiliate, the Houston Astros, to win the 2017 World Series.

In fact, they felt so strongly about it, they created an entire promotional campaign around it, including 2017 World Series championship rings to hand out to fans.

This is all part of a Back to the Future-themed promotion, which includes DeLorean-inspired jerseys, complete with a flux capacitor on the front.

But the real story here is the confidence from the Grizzlies in their major league counterpart, as they believe the Astros are building a great foundation of talent that will ultimately compete for the World Series title in 2017.

However, the Grizzlies later balked on the promotion in fear of jinxing the Astros, per KSEE24 anchor Evan Onstot:

There’s no word yet as to what the Grizzlies will cook up as a replacement promotion.

Matt Adams Hits Game-Winning 3-Run Home Run off Clayton Kershaw

The St. Louis Cardinals owned the seventh inning in the National League Division Series versus the Los Angeles Dodgers.

After a big home run from Matt Carpenter off Clayton Kershaw in the sixth inning of Game 1 that began to chip away at the Dodgers’ 6-1 cushion, it was Matt Adams’ turn in Game 4.

On a hanging curveball with a 0-1 count, Adams blasted one into the bullpen, giving the Cardinals a 3-2 lead and chasing Kershaw from the game in the process.

The Cardinals held on to win by the aforementioned margin and knocked the Dodgers out of the playoffs. St. Louis advances to the National League Championship Series for the fourth consecutive year!

Young Boy Gives Up Foul Ball to Young Girl at Fenway Park

There is no better feeling for a young child than nabbing a baseball at a major league park.

However, this young boy in Boston passed it up and paid it forward in a big way. After Red Sox catcher Christian Vazquez’s foul ball found its way into the stands during the bottom of the fourth inning on Friday, the boy immediately handed the ball to the young girl sitting behind him.

It was such a surprising gesture that the girl’s mother couldn’t hide her shock and amazement at the selfless act.

Slick move, kid, you’ve got a bright future.

Yasiel Puig Angrily Flips Bat and Nearly Hits Matt Kemp in On-Deck Circle

We’ve seen Yasiel Puig work the bat flip after home runs, doubles and even long fly balls that are caught. But this is a new one.

In the third inning of the Dodgers-Braves game, Mike Minor induced a first-pitch lazy fly ball from Puig, and the star outfielder wasn’t happy with himself. So he flipped his bat and took off toward first base.

But Puig likely underestimated his strength, as it flew all the way toward Matt Kemp, who had to move to avoid being hit by the flying bat.

Yasiel Puig. Only he can make pop-ups exciting.

Carlos Gomez Attempts to Break Bat over His Knee 3 Times and Fails

The Milwaukee Brewers were down 8-1 to the St. Louis Cardinals in the bottom of the fifth inning on Saturday, and Carlos Gomez fell victim to an Adam Wainwright breaking ball, striking out to end the inning.

Naturally, Gomez was upset with his bat and tried to take out his frustrations, but it didn’t work out like he planned. He went to break his bat not once, but three timesand failed.

You’ve got to give credit to Gomez for not giving up right away, but he finally settled for the bat and helmet slam as he headed back to the dugout. Nothing seemed to go Gomez’s or the Brewers’ way, as the Cardinals rolled to a 10-2 victory, extending Milwaukee’s losing streak to seven games.

Maybe next time, Carlos.

Terry Francona Rides Around Town on a Scooter

Terry Francona has made millions over his long career in Major League Baseball as a player and manager.

It clearly hasn’t gone to his head, though. The Cleveland Indians manager was filmed mobbing around town on a scooter.

Usually scooters are reserved for college kids and tourists, but Tito doesn’t care. He just wants to ride.
