The St. Louis Cardinals owned the seventh inning in the National League Division Series versus the Los Angeles Dodgers.

After a big home run from Matt Carpenter off Clayton Kershaw in the sixth inning of Game 1 that began to chip away at the Dodgers’ 6-1 cushion, it was Matt Adams’ turn in Game 4.

On a hanging curveball with a 0-1 count, Adams blasted one into the bullpen, giving the Cardinals a 3-2 lead and chasing Kershaw from the game in the process.

The Cardinals held on to win by the aforementioned margin and knocked the Dodgers out of the playoffs. St. Louis advances to the National League Championship Series for the fourth consecutive year!
