Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports reports that the Yankees will not be expected to pick up Berkman’s $15 million 2011 option as part of waiving his NTC.

Updated 5:13: Frankie Piliere of AOL FanHouse is reporting that he’s hearing that Ivan Nova and/or David Adams could be included in a deal for Berkman. But he cautions that he has “nothing solid yet.”

Updated 5:06: Buster Olney of ESPN reports that talks are advancing quickly.

Original article: According to Joel Sherman of the NY Post , the Yankees are “on verge of completion” of a deal that would land them Astros first baseman Lance Berkman .
