Just because you’ve slipped behind in the Stolen Base category doesn’t mean you can’t catch up.  Here are some reasonably available SB threats.

Corey Patterson, OF, Baltimore Orioles

Patterson had 5 SBs in the past 15 days while hitting .279 with seven runs. On the year he’s hitting .250 with 10 SBs, 19 runs, three HRs, and six RBIs in 128 at-bats.

Corey is owned in 0.3 percent of ESPN and six percent of CBS leagues.

Angel Pagan, OF, New York Mets

Carlos Beltran is starting a rehab assignment, so Pagan’s fantasy days could be numbered.

For what it’s worth he had four SBs over the past 15 days while hitting .352 with nine runs and 10 RBIs. On the year he’s hitting .304 with 14 SBs, 41 runs, four HRs, and 35 RBIs. With production like that Jerry Manuel will have to find ABs for Pagan.

Angel is owned in roughly 54 percent of ESPN and CBS leagues.

Tony Gwynn, San Diego Padres

Gwynn had three SBs in the past 15 days while hitting .333 with five runs, one HR, and four RBIs. On the year he’s hitting .234 with 12 SBs, 18 runs, two HRs, and 14 RBIs.

Tony is owned in 0.4 percent of ESPN and three percent of CBS leagues.

Trevor Crowe, OF, Cleveland Indians

Crowe is another player that could lose ABs should the Indians recall Michael Brantley.

Until then he’s a guy that has nine SBs in 140 ABs to go along with a .243 average, 15 runs, one HR, and 17 RBIs. Over the past 15 days he had three SBs, seven runs, and six RBIs despite hitting just .224.

Trevor is owned in 0.3 percent of ESPN and six percent of CBS leagues.

Alcides Escobar, SS, Milwaukee Brewers

We knew Escobar had speed. He just has to harness it.

Over the past 15 days he did, stealing three while hitting .263 with seven runs and five RBIs. On the year he’s hitting .250 with five SBs, 29 runs, two HRs, and 21 RBIs.

Alcides is owned in 38.5 percent of ESPN and 57 percent of CBS leagues.

Drew Stubbs, OF, Cincinnati Reds

Stubbs had three SBs last week despite hitting .250. He added three runs, one HR, and three RBIs. On the year he’s hitting .235 with 15 SBs, 36 runs, seven HRs, and 31 RBIs. Imagine the damage he could do if he could hit even .260 or .270.

Drew is owned in 23.6 percent of ESPN and 42 percent of CBS leagues.
