Here’s a look at the unheralded players who played well yesterday.

C.J. Wilson, Texas Rangers
Wilson got a no-decision despite giving up two runs on two hits with 6 Ks. He’s 5-3 with a 3.48 ERA and a 1.23 WHIP.

Ryan Raburn and Gerald Laird, Detroit Tigers
Raburn went 2-for-4 with two HRs and four RBI. He’s hitting just .180, so don’t put too much faith in a repeat performance. Same goes with Laird, who raised his average to .178 after going 3-for-4 with a run.

Gordon Beckham, Chicago White Sox
Beckham went 2-for-4 with a run and three RBI (15). He’s hitting .210. They were his first RBI since June 1st, so I wouldn’t run out and pick him up.

Delmon Young, Minnesota Twins (pictured)
Young continued his torrid pace and 11-game hitting streak, going 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI (41). He’s hitting .295.

Dave Bush, Milwaukee Brewers
Bush gave up one run in 7.1 innings to improve to 2-5 with a 4.67 ERA.

Jake Arrieta, Baltimore Orioles
Arrieta gave up one run on three hits in seven innings to improve to 2-0 with a 2.77 ERA. Not quite Stephen Strasburg numbers, but a brilliant start to a career for Arrieta as well.
