In 2012, nobody could stop Miguel Cabrera from finishing off the first Triple Crown season since Carl Yastrzemski’s in 1967.

In 2013, there’s one guy who could stop Miggy from becoming the first player in history to win two straight Triple Crowns: Baltimore Orioles slugger Chris Davis.

Cabrera has comfortable leads in the American League batting average and RBI races, but Davis has the edge in the home run race and has been reluctant to give it up all season. With barely more than a month to play, can Miggy catch him?

That’s B/R MLB Lead Writer Zachary D. Rymer’s cue to start talking. He gathered up whatever stats and information he could find and then got in front of a camera to make a call on whether Cabrera will catch Davis in the AL home run race and, in doing so, win a second straight Triple Crown.
