Ichiro Likes His Beer Excellently Processed

Seattle Mariners outfielder Ichiro Suzuki is a unique fellow, to say the least.

Now he has become Japan’s version of the “Most Interesting Man in the World” from the Dos Equis commercials.

It seems as though the hit machine is the face of Kirin beer, a Japanese product.

Watch Ichiro act the part of a salesman on TheSportingRave.com.

Apparently, they make excellently processed beer. And that’s the way Ichiro likes it.

Albert Pujols and David Letterman Take Batting Practice

St. Louis Cardinals slugger Albert Pujols was in New York for a series against the Mets recently and decided to drop by “The Late Show with David Letterman.” He came to talk baseball and managed to work in some batting practice as well.

He faced off against Letterman, who surprisingly has some pop in his bat and, not to mention, an athletic-looking swing.

Watch Letterman try to beat Pujols at his own game on TheSportingRave.com.

Actor and comedian Denis Leary was a guest on the show as well and was kind enough to play the role of pitcher for both of the contestants.

Brad Pitt to Play Billy Beane in Upcoming Movie

Please check out my website, TheSportingRave.com . More celebrity/pop culture stories.

The newest sports movie to hit the pre-production stage, titled Moneyball,  is a story that tracks the Oakland A’s baseball team and its unconventional general manager Billy Beane, played by none other than Brad Pitt.

Beane is infamously known for using computer-generated analysis of statistics to draft players, which brought the A’s organization success both on and off the field.

The script was rewritten by Steven Soderbergh in an attempt to include more authentic scenes. Darryl Strawberry and Lenny Dykstra will both be making appearances in the movie.

The film also stars Jonah Hill, Robin Wright, and Philip Seymour Hoffman. They have begun shooting scenes of real day and night games at the coliseum to include in the movie.

Alex Rodriguez to Make Acting Debut

Please check out my website, TheSportingRave.com. More celebrity/pop culture stories to discover.

Alex Rodriguez has been romantically linked to the likes of Kate Hudson and Cameron Diaz, and now the roidhead Yankees slugger will attempt to move into the movie genre himself.

A-Rod is well-accustomed to the spotlight playing for the world champion Yankees, so it should be an easy transition from Yankee Stadium, to the big screen.

Justin Timberlake, Mila Kunis, Woody Harrelson, and Andy Samberg are also set to star in the film, titled “Friends with Benefits,” so it looks like A-Rod will hit the ground running.

It is rumored that he will play himself in the movie, but his actual role has yet to be announced. My guess would be Rodriguez plays the “friend” whose “benefit” is the provision of steroids, for whatever reason. Brilliant plot line, right?

George Steinbrenner on Seinfeld

Today legendary New York Yankees owner George Steinbrenner died, and even though he will be forever missed by the game of baseball, he will not be forgotten.

During his tenure as Yankees owner, Steinbrenner made several appearances in pop culture including Saturday Night Live in 1990, which he hosted.

He was also portrayed on the TV show Seinfeld, although he never actually made an appearance on air. Larry David usually did voiceovers while the back of “Steinbrenner’s” head was shown.

He did however shoot some scenes that appeared in the deleted scenes on the Season 7 DVD, and thanks to YouTube they are available for viewing.
