3 Los Angeles Dodgers Errors Result in 2 Runs for San Diego Padres

The Los Angeles Dodgers and Clayton Kershaw had a comfortable 8-1 lead heading into the sixth inning of Monday night’s game against the San Diego Padres, but this sequence of plays made things a little closer than the NL Cy Young front-runner would have liked.

After a flyout to center field, the Dodgers committed three errors in one play to allow both Yangervis Solarte and Rymer Liriano to score, trimming the lead to just 8-3 for Los Angeles.

Kershaw finished the game with another strong outing, allowing just one earned run in eight innings of work.

Tampa Bay Rays Get Walk-off Win over Baltimore Orioles on Passed Ball

In the bottom of the ninth inning of Saturday’s game between the Baltimore Orioles and the Tampa Bay Rays, catcher Nick Hundley messed up on the catch. After the ball went to the backstop, Yunel Escobar sprinted toward home and scored the walk-off run in the 3-2 win.

The Rays are pretty far out of the playoff race, but that doesn’t mean that they can’t help some of the other teams in the AL East gain some ground on the Orioles.

Eugenie Bouchard Ended Up with Two Foul Balls at Yankees Game

After losing in the fourth round of the women’s U.S. Open, Eugenie Bouchard decided to stay in New York and go to a Yankees game.

During Friday’s contest against the Kansas City Royals, Bouchard had a little bit of luck on her side. She ended up catching not one, but two foul balls during the game.

That’s quite a way to cap off a career-best year for the 20-year-old Canadian tennis star.

Dodgers Use Extreme 4-Man Shift with Bases Loaded vs. Padres

MLB teams usually aren’t afraid to utilize an infield shift for hitters who tend to pull the ball, but the Los Angeles Dodgers went a bit extreme with this one.

In the bottom of the 12th inning on Friday night with the bases loaded against the San Diego Padres, the Dodgers used a four-infielder shift, moving everyone to the right side of the infield. The move ended up paying off, with the Dodgers getting a fielder’s choice at home for the second out to stay alive.

Unfortunately for the Dodgers, Yasmani Grandal ended up hitting a walk-off single shortly after to give the Padres the 3-2 win.

Boston Red Sox Fan Catches 2 Foul Balls vs. Astros

The Boston Red Sox were dealt a 5-3 loss against the Houston Astros on Friday night, and one of the most impressive players on the Boston side might have actually come from the stands.

In the fourth and sixth innings, one fan was able to make barehanded catches, somehow collecting two souvenirs in one game.

Miss Texas Throws out Terrible First Pitch at Rangers Game

Miss Texas 2014 Monique Evans, 22, got the unique opportunity to throw out the first pitch at a Texas Rangers game on Friday against the Los Angeles Angels.

Things didn’t go as well as planned.

Evans ended up deciding to toss the ball underhand, but it didn’t come anywhere close to the catcher, falling well short and looking more like a grounder.

The professional ballerina’s follow-through looked clean, but everything else was suspect—except for the crown. That part’s legit.

Kate Upton Claims Yankees Wouldn’t Let Her Wear Tigers Gear at Yankee Stadium

It’s no secret that Kate Upton is dating Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander, which made her recent situation with the New York Yankees quite interesting.

While filling in as a co-host for Kelly Ripa on Live! With Kelly and Michael, Upton was asked multiple questions by Michael Strahan.

Upton admitted to being a Yankees fan but mentioned that the organization would not let her wear any Tigers gear at the stadium when she went to watch Verlander play.

“They specifically told me, the Yankees told me, they’re like, ‘You’re not allowed to wear a Tigers hat,'” Upton told Strahan.  “‘You’re not allowed to wear any Tigers gear.’ It’s like a bad breakup.”

Diamondbacks’ David Peralta Steals Home on Throw Back to Pitcher vs. Rockies

Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder David Peralta showed some great awareness at third base on Friday against the Colorado Rockies.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, Rockies catcher Michael McKenry got a little too casual with his throw back to the pitcher. As soon as he let go of the ball, Peralta dashed toward home plate, getting the steal and the run for his team.

The Diamondbacks ended up wining, 5-3, to move to 50-66 on the year.

Umpire Falls, Does Splits After Calling Baserunner Safe

Umpire Gary Cederstrom was making a call at third base on Friday night at Kauffman Stadium when he apparently hit a slick patch in the grass.

During the top of the second inning between the San Francisco Giants and Kansas City Royals, catcher Salvador Perez tried to throw out Joaquin Arias at third base. Cederstrom correctly called Arias safe, but then he started to slide and unintentionally did the splits.

The Royals ended up winning the game 4-2.

A’s Coco Crisp Debuts Strange New Haircut

Oakland Athletics outfielder Coco Crisp debuted an interesting hair style on Friday night.

During the team’s game against the Minnesota Twins, Crisp was seen sporting his new ‘do. Whatever happened back there might have worked, as he had a big bases-clearing triple early in the game to help give the Athletics a 6-5 win.
