With the first third of the baseball season complete, it’s time to update the fantasy baseball rankings.

 

Catchers

1.   Joe Mauer—Power numbers have dried up, but he’s still hitting .321 with 25 runs and 24 RBIs.
2.  Rod Barajas—Leads all catchers in HRs (11) and RBIs (30).
3.  Miguel Olivo—The only C to hit over .300 (308) with five+ HRs (eight), 20+ runs (22) and 25 RBIs.
4.  Yadier Molina—He has just two HRs and nine runs, but chips in with 28 RBIs and six SBs.
5. John Buck—Has eight HRs and 26 RBIs.
6.  Victor Martinez—His average isn’t what we expected (.257), but he does have 22 runs, seven HRs, and 24 RBIs.
7.  Mike Napoli—Having a solid year hitting .271 with 17 runs, eight HRs, and 19 RBIs.
8.  Russell Martin—Leads all catchers with 28 runs. Also has three SBs. 
9.  Chris Snyder—Has 16 runs, eight HRs, and 25 RBIs. His .226 average keep him from a higher rank.
10.  Francisco Cervelli—Hitting .320 with 11 runs and 23 RBIs filling in for Posada.

 

First Basemen

1.  Miguel Cabrera—Triple Crown threat hitting .344 with 14 HRs and 48 RBIs.
2.  Justin Morneau—Hitting .377 with 11 HRs and 36 RBIs.
3.  Albert Pujols—His .316 average is lower than expected, but has 12 HRs and 39 RBIs.
4.  Kevin Youkilis—Leads all 1B with 45 runs. Hitting .298 with 10 HRs and 29 RBIs.
5.  Joey Votto—Hitting .312 with 29 runs, 10 HRs, 33 RBIs, and six SBs.
6.  Paul Konerko—Has slowed down, but has 14 HRs, 28 runs, and 33 RBIs.
7.   Mark Teixeira—Shaking off slow start. Has 33 runs, eight HRs, and 34 RBIs.
8.  Troy Glaus—Surprisingly has 37 RBIs to go along with eight HRs and 25 runs.
9.  Ryan Howard—HRs (eight) and RBIs (33) will come. Have to like his .282 average.
10.  Adam LaRoche—Quietly has 32 runs, seven HRs, and 33 RBIs.

 

Second Basemen

1.  Robinson Cano—Killing it hitting .363 with 37 runs, 11 HRs, and 40 RBIs.
2.  Dan Uggla—.269 average isn’t bad for him. Has 36 runs, 12 HRs, and 31 RBIs.
3.  Brandon Phillips—Hitting .282 with 38 runs, seven HRs, 18 RBIs, and seven SBs.
4.  Chase Utley—Somewhat of a down year. Hitting .277 with 35 runs, 10 HRs, and 24 RBIs.
5.  Kelly Johnson—Hitting .275 with 35 runs, 12 HRs, 25 RBIs, and five SBs.
6.  Martin Prado—Hitting .367 with 38 runs and 26 RBIs. 
7. Ty Wiggington—Leads all 2B with 13 HRs. Hitting .288 with 23 runs and 32 RBIs.
8.  Richie Weeks—Has 32 runs, eight HRs, and 30 RBIs.
9.  Dustin Pedroia—Started off on fire. Hitting .255 with 33 runs, eight HRs, and 25 RBIs.
10.  Howie Kendrick—Has 22 runs, four HRs, 29 RBIs, and five SBs.

 

Third Basemen

1.  Evan Longoria—Hitting .323 with 35 runs, 10 HRs, 42 RBIs, and 10 SBs.
2.  Jose Bautista—Leads 3B with 16 HRs, 37 runs, and tied for second with 41 RBIs.
3.  Alex Rodriguez—Hitting .294 with 30 runs, seven HRs, and 41RBIs.
4.  Casey McGehee—Hitting .301 with 25 runs, nine HRs, and 41 RBIs. 
5.  Adrian Beltre—Hitting .345 with 21 runs, five HRs, and 34 RBIs. 
6.  Ryan Zimmerman—Hitting .308with 29 runs, 11 HRs, and 31 RBIs.
7.  Scott Rolen—Hitting .280 with 29 runs, 11 HRs, and 32 RBIs.
8.  Jorge Cantu—Started off red hot. Hitting .279 with 25 runs, eight HRs, and 39 RBIs.
9.  Mark Reynolds—Average sucks. You expected that. Has 12 HRs, 33 runs, and 39 RBIs. 
10.  David Wright—Average is off (.258), but has 24 runs, eight HRs, 34 RBIs, and nine SBs.

 

Shortstops

1. Troy Tulowitzki—Hitting .312 with 39 runs, six HRs, and 26 RBIs.
2.  Hanley Ramirez—Hitting .295 with 28 runs, eight HRs, 26 RBIs, and six SBs.
3.  Alex Gonzalez—Leads all SS with 11 HRs and 32 RBIs. Also has scored 30 runs.
4.  Derek Jeter—Hitting .302 with 32 runs, five HRs, 31 RBIs, and five SBs.
5.  Elvis Andrus—Leads all SS with 18 SBs. Also has scored 35 runs. 
6.  Jose Reyes—Bounced back with 30 runs, 21 RBIs, and 12 SBs.
7.  Stephen Drew—Hitting .287 with 28 runs, four HRs, 19 RBIs, and three SBs.
8.  Juan Uribe—Hitting .281 with 23 runs, seven HRs, and 29 RBIs.
9.  Ryan Theriot—Hitting .285 with 24 runs, 14 RBIs, and nine SBs.
