Rick Monday once made a great play, and now he’s being immortalized as a bobblehead.

On April 25, 1976, during a game at Dodgers Stadium, center fielder Rick Monday, then with the Chicago Cubs, saw two protesters come onto the field with the intention of burning an American flag. Monday quickly sprang into action, grabbing the American flag away from the man and his son before it could be lit.

Tonight, the Dodgers will give out Rick Monday flag-saving bobbleheads for their game against the Cubs in one of the most patriotic promotions of all time.
