Holland Heads to 15-Day DL

Saturday, April 18

One day, Holland is picking up the save in a 6-4 win for the Kansas City Royals; the next, he’s hitting the disabled list.

The 29-year-old has picked right up from where he left off in 2014. In four appearances this year, he’s failed to allow a hit, walking one batter and striking out three. He’s also tied for the American League lead in saves (4).

The good news for Kansas City is that it has plenty of arms who can take over ninth-inning duties. Wade Davis is the natural replacement, and he hasn’t allowed a run in his five relief appearances. NBCSports.com’s Matthew Pouliot believes Davis is a must-add for fantasy owners:

Losing Holland will hurt somewhat, but the presence of Davis at the back end of the bullpen should soften the blow.

The Royals should be able to continue their hot start.
