Here’s a look at the unheralded players who played well yesterday.

 

Travis Hafner, Cleveland Indians
Pronk went 1-for-4 with a Grand Slam. He’s hitting .243 with five HRs and 22 RBIs.

 

Justin Masterson, Cleveland Indians (pictured)
Masterson threw a two-hit shutout against his old mates. He struck out six Boston batters to improve to 2-5 with a 4.74 ERA.

 

Orlando Cabrera, Cincinnati Reds
Cabrera went 4-for-5 with three runs to raise his average to .269.

 

Sean Rodriguez, Tampa Bay Rays
Rodriguez went 3-for-4 with a run and three RBIs. He’s hitting .264 with 19 RBIs.

 

Lastings Milledge, Pittsburgh Pirates
Things were a little easier with Stephen Strasburg watching on. Milledge was 3-for-5 with two runs and an RBI to raise his average to .255.

 

Omar Vizquel, Brent Lillibridge,  & Ramon Castro, White Sox
They all had big games (Vizquel and Lillibridge three RBIs, Castro four RBIs), but none are worth owning.

 

Felipe Paulino, Houston Astros
Paulino got a no-decision despite holding the Rockies to two runs in eight innings with seven Ks. He’s allowed two or fewer runs in his past five starts to lower his ERA to 3.82.

 

Kenshin Kawakami, Atlanta Braves
Kawakami got a no-decision despite throwing six scoreless innings. He struck out eight and lowered his ERA to 4.48.

 

Ian Kennedy, Arizona Diamondbacks
Kennedy didn’t factor into the decision either. He threw seven scoreless innings allowing three hits with six Ks, lowering his ERA to 3.17.

 

Joe Saunders, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim
Saunders threw a complete game allowing one run to improve to 5-6 with a 4.35 ERA.

Randy Williams, CHW:  1 IP, 0 Runs, 2 Ks (20 Ks, 22-1/3 IP)

Ed O’Flaherty, ATL:  1.1 IP, 0 Runs, 2 Ks (22 Ks, 25-1/3IP)
Brad Ziegler, OAK:  1.1 IP, 0 Runs, 2 Ks (19 Ks, 29-1/3 IP)
