Here’s a look at the unheralded players who played well yesterday.

 

Homer Bailey, Cincinnati Reds (pictured)
Bailey picked up where Cueto left off. He also threw a complete game shutout. Bailey gave up 4 hits and had 6 Ks. He’s now 1-2 with a 5.66 ERA.

 

Travis Snider, Toronto Blue Jays
Snider went 2 for 4 with a HR and 3 RBIs. He’s hitting .232 with 5 HRs and 12 RBIs.

 

Brooks Conrad, Atlanta Braves
Conrad went 2 for 4 with a HR and 4 RBIs. He’s hitting .250 in limited at bats, but has played well in Chipper Jones’ absence.

 

Derek Lowe, Atlanta Braves
Now this is the Lowe I’m used to. He gave up 2 runs in 6 innings to beat the Brew Crew. He’s 5-3 with a 5.73 ERA.

 

Roger Bernadina, Washington Nationals
Bernadina went 3 for 5 with 2 HRs, and 3 RBIs. He’s hitting .263 on the year.

 

Miguel Olivo, Colorado Rockies
Olivo went 5 for 5 with a HR (6) to raise his average to .274.

 

Brad Bergesen, Baltimore Orioles
Bergesen gave up 1 run on 5 hits in 7-2/3 innings to improve to 3-2 with a 5.76 ERA.

 

Jeremy Bonderman, Detroit Tigers
Bonderman took the loss, but he has nothing to be ashamed about. He held the Yankees to 2 runs on 5  hits with 7 Ks in 7 innings. He’s now 1-2 with a 5.08 ERA.

 

Jeff Keppinger, Houston Astros
Keppinger went 2 for 4 with 2 runs, and 3 RBIs. He’s hitting .260.

 

Max Ramirez, Texas Rangers
Max went 3 for 4 with a HR. He’s hitting .385.

 

Derek Holland, Texas Rangers
Holland was brilliant in his first start of the year. He threw 6 scoreless innings allowing 5 hits and picking up 7 Ks.

 

Adam LaRoche, Arizona Diamondbacks
LaRoche went 2 for 3 with 3 RBIs. He’s hitting .257 with 23 RBIs on the year.
