With the baseball season intensifying, you’ll want to make sure you’re getting all the right picks for your daily fantasy baseball lineups. Here, I’ve provided you with some important information for the closing of this week and the beginning of next.

Matt LaPorta, 1B, Cleveland Indians

Matt LaPorta will once again be out of the lineup for Thursday night’s game. Since taking an elbow to the head Monday night, LaPorta has missed three straight games. Hold off on picking him for your lineup until this weekend or the beginning of next week as a good first base fantasy choice.

Lance Berkman, 1B, Houston Astros

It seems that whatever Berkman has changed from last season to this season with his batting is working.  With homers in four straight games, he has improved his OPS from .740 to .831. With the streak he is currently on, you will more than likely want to pick him up for your fantasy team.

Jake Peavy, P, Chicago White Sox

While we hope that Jake Peavy’s injury from Tuesday night won’t be season-ending for him, having detached a muscle in his shoulder makes it likely.  Unfortunate because in his five previous starts, he had allowed only seven earned runs in 36 innings (1.75 ERA). Stay away from Peavy until more information is released about his injury.

Buster Posey, 1B, San Francisco Giants

Buster Posey had an amazing game last night, driving in six runs, with two homers to beat the Brewers. He went 4-for-4, and added a pair of singles to go along with his grand slam and two-run homer. Posey will certainly be one to snatch up quick for your fantasy leagues, with a batting average of .331, 5 HRs, and 19 RBI’s in 121 at-bats.

Adam Dunn, 1B, Washington Nationals

With 304 at-bats, Dunn has a .939 OPS,  and 20 home runs. He went 3-for-4 with three home runs and five RBIs Wednesday night in a 7-6 win over the Padres. Dunn is certainly improving and would be a great addition to any fantasy team.
