Fantasy Baseball: Hot Streak Report, Week 12

Last week was filled with laser shows from coast to coast. There were 14 players who hit three or more home runs last week. There were a lot of hot streaks going on. But these few players stood out as the studs of Week 12.

1) 2B Dustin Pedroia Bos

Boston’s scrappy second baseman went 6-for-13 with three home runs, five RBI, four walks, and finished last week with a .462 AVG.

Pedroia had the game of his career when he was 5-for-5 with three bombs, pushed five us teammates across the dish, and scored four runs on Thursday night against the Rockies.

Pedroia was placed on the disabled list with a displaced fracture in his foot as a result of a foul ball the following night. He will likely miss six weeks.

The DL placement is a huge disappointment to fantasy owners as Pedroia was playing fantasticly in recent weeks.

Fantasy owners will ride out the DL and pick up a temporary replacement at second base.

Pedroia is hitting .292 with 41 RBI for the season.

2) OF Justin Upton Ari

The Arizona outfielder was 12-for-21 with three home runs, five RBI, four walks, one stolen base, and finished last week with a .571 AVG.

Upton has had issues with strike outs but his 13 home runs and 11 stolen bases almost make you forget about it.

His spot in the seventh hole has helped him streak and raise his overall average.

Fantasy owners who have stuck it out with Upton could use this hot streak and sell high.

Upton is hitting .271 with 39 RBI for the season.

3) 3B David Wright NYM

The popular New York Mets third baseman was 11-for-22 with two home runs, eight RBI, four walks, one stolen base, and finished last week with a .500 AVG.

He is having another fantastic season making fantasy owners everywhere smile.

Wright is hitting .303 with 61 RBI for the season.

4) OF Jay Bruce Cin

The Cincinnati outfielder was 10-for-20 with three home runs, four RBI, two walks, and finished last week with a .500 AVG.

Bruce has seen a slight increase in ownership and could be a nice free agent pick up if he is available in your league.

Bruce has a .282 AVG with 34 RBI for the season.

5) 2B Rickie Weeks Mil

The Brewers second baseman was 10-for-23 with three home runs, seven RBI, three walks, and finished last week with a .435 AVG.

Weeks tend to streak and follow it up with a slump. Take advantage of the latest explosion of production and sell-high with this hot streak on full steam.

His fantasy ownership increase slightly this past week.

Weeks is hitting .274, 45 RBI, and 13 HR for the season.

6) OF Vernon Wells Tor

The Toronto outfielder was 9-for-21 with three home runs, five RBI, two walks, 1 stolen base and finished last week with a .429 AVG.

Wells is on fire after having a terrible slump in the first part of June.

Wells hit two into the stands and garnered three RBI in Thursday’s game against the Cardinals.

This is a great opportunity to sell high and fill some holes on your fantasy team if you already have some power in your bats.

Wells is sporting a .288 AVG, 47 RBI, and 19 home runs for the season.

7) 3B Michael Young Tex

The Texas third baseman was 10-for-25 with three home runs, seven RBI, two walks, and finished last week with a .400 AVG.

Young doesn’t seem to grab the attention of the fantasy world as much as he should. He is one of the most reliable corner infielders in the game today.

Young is having an outstanding season with 11 HR, 51 RBI and a .316 AVG.

8) OF Carlos Quentin CWS

The White Sox outfielder was 7-for-18 with four home runs, 11 RBI, two walks, and finished last week with a .389 AVG.

Quentin has had five bombs in the last handful of at-bats. If he keeps up this pace he could have nearly 30 home runs for the season.

Take this surge of production by him to make a deal. Distract doubters who are fixated on his average by pointing out his power numbers.

Fantasy owners dropped Quentin like a bad habit a few weeks back. His recent hot streak however has brought a lot of them back as his ownership increased by up to 30% in several leagues.

His season average is terrible as it sits at .233.

9) 3B Alex Rodriguez NYY

The movie star aura that surrounds the controversial star often over shadows his superior baseball play. From the incident with Dallas Braden to his fight with Jason Varitek, A-Rod is always news.

The Yankees third baseman went 8-for-21, three home runs, 10 RBI, five walks, and finished up last week with a .381 AVG.

Rodriguez is hitting .303 with 54 RBI and 11 home runs for the season.

10) OF Josh Hamilton Tex

The Texas outfielder went 10-for-22 with two home runs, five RBI, one walk, one stolen base and finished the week with a .455 AVG.

Hamilton is having a stellar season with .346 AVG and 18 home runs for the season.

Honorable Mention*

3B Miguel Tejada Bal 13/27, 5 R, 1 HR, 1 XBH, 7 RBI, .481 AVG

SS Elvis Andrus Tex 11/24, 5 R, 0 HR, 4 RBI, 4 BB, 2 SB, .458 AVG

OF Alfonso Soriano ChC 8/18, 3 R, 1 HR, 4 XBH, 1 RBI, 3 BB, .444 AVG

Fantasy Baseball: Major Slump Report, Week 10

The poor production by the players listed below gave their fantasy owners headaches. Their names are recognizable. Their pictures likely grace one of your top baseball cards. The bench might be the right place for them to think about what they did this week to so many hopeful fantasy baseball teams.

1) OF Alfonso Soriano, Chicago Cubs

The Cubs outfielder was only 2-for-20 with a .100 AVG last week.

It’s been a terrible June for Soriano as he was only able to dredge up a lousy .162 AVG in 37 tries in the batters box.

Soriano is hitting .275 with 10 home runs and 32 RBI for the season.

Still, his ownership hasn’t been affected by this horrible slump.

2) OF Matt Kemp, Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers outfielder was only 2-for-20 with a .100 avg last week.

Kemp rode the pine on Sunday after being hit-less in 15 at-bats.

He is only hitting .226 in 53 plate appearances in June.

He is currently hitting .265 with 11 home runs and 33 RBI for the season.

Kemp’s ownership hasn’t seen any downfall as a result of the slump.

3) OF Vernon Wells, Toronto Blue Jays

The Rangers outfielder was only 2-for-18 with a .111 AVG last week. On the bright side, both of his hits were for extra bases. He was also able to get three free passes to first.

Wells is hitting .250 with two home runs in June.

Wells has a .292 AVG with 15 home runs for the season. He was only projected to hit around .260 with 15 home runs so he is actually performing better than most expected.

It looks like fantasy owners are hoping that Wells will get his early season fire back. There was no affects in ownership as a result of his bad week.

4) 3B Chipper Jones, Atlanta Braves

The fan favorite had a horrible week. He went 2-for-17 with a .118 AVG last week.

His injured finger may get Jones placed on the 15-day DL. It might be a blessing in disguise as it may give Jones the rest he needs to break the slump.

He has only thee RBI and a .179 AVG in June.

Jones is hitting .228 with only three home runs this season.

He was projected to bat .297 with 20 home runs for the season, but that now looks like a pipe dream.

His ownership has seen a drastic drop due to his overall season numbers and this recent slump. Look for it to drop even more when he is out of action.

5) OF Hunter Pence, Houston Astros

The Houston outfielder went 3-for-25 with a .120 AVG last week.

He has two home runs in June but his average of .196 makes you forget about the long balls.

Pence is hitting .260 with 10 home runs this season. He projected to hit around 25-30 home runs this season so he is definitely worth keeping around.

Despite his numbers, Pence’s ownership is still stable with no drop.

6) C Ryan Doumit, Pittsburgh Pirates

The Pirates catcher went 2-for-16 with a .125 AVG last week.

He has one home run and is only .219 for the month of June.

Doumit is hitting .268 with six home runs this season. His projection of hitting .286 with 16 home runs doesn’t seem out of reach. But he will need to turn it around.

It looks like fantasy owners are losing faith in Doumit. He has seen a dramatic drop in his ownership.

7) 2B/3B Casey McGehee, Milwaukee Brewers

Casey McGehee went 3-for-24 with a .125 AVG last week.

He is in a real slump this month with a .154 AVG. McGehee will have to find a way to break out of his slump before he totally destroys his seasonal average.

McGehee is hitting .274 with 10 home runs for the season.

There has been no decline in ownership due to his recent slump.

8) OF Ryan Braun, Milwaukee Brewers

The Brewers outfielder joined his teammate, McGehee on the slump ride. He went 2-for-23 with a .130 AVG last week.

He has a .207 AVG for the month.

Braun is hitting .297 with nine home runs this season.

9) 1B Albert Pujols, St. Louis Cardinals

Arguably the best player in baseball is in a slump. The Cardinals first baseman went 3-for -22 with a .136 AVG last week.

He is has a nice .304 AVG with five home runs since the start of June. It looks like it was just a bad week for the fantasy baseball juggernaut.

Pujols is hitting .300 with 14 home runs this season.

10) OF Matt Holliday, St. Louis Cardinals

The Cardinals outfielder had a bad week like his teammate, Albert Pujols. He went 3-for-22 with a .136 AVG.

Holliday is set to hit second in the line-up in front of Pujols. This might get him better pitches to break out of his slump.

He has a .271 AVG with one home run for June.

He is hitting .289 with only six home runs this season.

Holliday hasn’t seen any drop in his ownership with his recent slump.

Dishonorable Mention:

1B Miguel Cabrera, Detroit Tigers

The Tigers first baseman went 3-for-22 with a .136 AVG last week.

He couldn’t make the list when two of his three hits last week were home runs. But hitting .136 with 22 tries is not good and should be mentioned.

Cabrera is the American League leader with 19 home runs and 56 RBI.

Cabrera is hitting .330 with 19 home runs this season.

Don’t dig too deep in last week’s lack of production. Cabrera will be back in the saddle make a run for batting titles.

Fantasy Baseball: Hot Streak Report, Week 10

We were entertained by these kings of swing this week. They stepped up to the plate and forced the fans to stand. Here’s your standing ovation for a great week of production gentlemen.

1)    1B Carlos Pena TB

The Rays first baseman had the most home runs last week with six bombs. He went 8-for-24 with nine RBI and finished with a .333 AVG.

Pena hit home runs in six consecutive games last Saturday. Pena is the first person to achieve such an honor since Frank Thomas accomplished the feat in 2006.

Pena saw a nice jump in ownership last week with his power show.

It has not been a great year overall for Pena as he is only hitting .193. On the bright side he has fifteen home runs with 43 RBI for the season thus far. This hot streak might pull him out of the gutter with his average.

2)    OF Ryan Spilborghs Col

The Colorado outfielder was 10-for-16 with three home runs, three RBI, and finished last week with a league best .625 AVG.

Due to other outfielders’ injuries and lack of production he has had a chance to swing the bat more last week and it paid off for the Rockies. He has had three home runs, two doubles, and one triple in the last three days.

Spilborghs is hitting .291 with six home runs for the season.

His role as a fourth outfielder hasn’t made him a prime pick up for fantasy owners. He could be a decent replacement for an ailing player on your roster.

3)    1B/OF Adam Dunn Was

The Washington outfielder was phenomenal last week. He had four home runs with seven RBI, went 10-or-22 to give him a .455 AVG.

When all eyes were on Stephen Strasburg, Dunn was having a productive night. He went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a home run helping the rookie sensation win his debut at “The Show”.

Dunn is hitting .289 with fourteen home runs for the season.

4)    OF Josh Hamilton Tex

The Texas outfielder hit big with four home runs last week. Hamilton drove thirteen of his teammates across the dish. He went 10-for-27 giving him .370 AVG to complete an awesome week.

It looks like Hamilton has done well despite issues with is right knee.

The popular Rangers outfielder is hitting .309 with fifteen home runs for the season.

5)    1B Adrian Gonzalez SD

It was hot in California last week. Gonzalez hit three into the stands and had seven RBI. The Padres first baseman was 10-for-25 with a .400 AVG last week.

Gonzalez hit two solo blasts last Monday over the Phillies.

The San Diego power house has had five home runs, fifteen RBI, and hit .407 in June.

Gonzalez is hitting .296 with fourteen home runs for the season right now.

San Diego might be looking to deal Gonzalez out around the All-Star break. With his current production is looking like a major acquisition for potential play off teams.

6)    2B Brandon Phillips Cin

The Reds second baseman was 14-for-26 with one homerun, pushed three across the dish, touched the plate six times himself, and finished last week with a .538 AVG.

After struggling in April, Phillips appears to have turned it around with last week’s production. He is hitting .464 since the start of June.

On June 10th, Phillips scored the game-winning run for the Reds.

Leg soreness may put an end to his hot streak as he was scratched from last Sunday’s game.

Phillips is hitting .311 with eight home runs for the season.

7)    3B Scott Rolen Cin

The Reds third baseman was 12-for-24 with five RBI, and finished last week with a .500 AVG.

Rolen was 12-for-26 with two homeruns, nine RBI, and a .462 AVG. to complete his first week in June.

He will need to stay healthy to continue his uprising among the ranks. June has definitely been good to his bat. He is hitting .429 with three home runs since the start of the month.

Rolen is hitting .313 with fourteen home runs for the season.

8)    OF Marlon Byrd ChC

The Cubs outfielder went 13-for-26 with two homeruns, five RBI, and finished last week with a .500 AVG.

Byrd is hitting .457 since the start of June.

Chicago must be happy with Byrd’s production this year so far. He is hitting .333 with nine home runs.

9)    SS Jose Reyes NYM

The Mets shortstop went 12-for-25 with two homeruns, two stolen bases, and hit .500.

He was a big name on the fantasy draft but has yet to really pay off. He is hitting .265 with three home runs and only sixteen RBI. This hot streak might be the answer to his less than stellar numbers.

10)  OF Johnny Damon Det

The Tiger’s new outfielder went 10-for-21 with five RBI, and .476 AVG.

June was kind to Damon as he hit .340 with nine RBI since the start of the month.

Damon is hitting .294 with only three home runs and eighteen RBI this season.

Honorable Mention– OF Julio Borbon Tex

The Texas outfielder was 10-for-19 with a .526 AVG.

He gets an honorable mention for his impressive average last week. He didn’t drive in enough runs to make the list. He is hitting .442 in June.

He has been a disappointment for fantasy owners and has seen his ownership drop significantly. His overall average for the season is .285 with only seventeen RBI.

2010 Fantasy Baseball: Major Slump Report Week Nine

These guys were making fantasy owners scream in pain as they were tortured for seven days straight. Their names are usually associated with outstanding performances, but last week was a different story.

The dugout might be the new home for these players on some fantasy teams if they can’t provide better production.

June hasn’t been very sweet for the following ballplayers.

Fantasy Baseball: Hot Streak Report Week 9

It was definitely a big week for the league’s corner infielders. The names of Youkilis, Glaus, Konerko, Rolen, Kouzmanoff, and Cabrera were on the tops of all the statistics. The guardians of the baselines spoke with their bats, and ruled the diamond.

Martinez, Gardner, Rasmus and Suzuki spent last week blasting the hardball. Injuries and rest days couldn’t put out their fire.

Fantasy Baseball: Hot Streak Report (June 7)

It was definitely a big week for the league’s corner infielders. The names of Youkilis, Glaus, Konerko, Rolen, Kouzmanoff, and Cabrera were on the tops of all the statistics. The guardians of the baseline spoke with their bats and ruled the diamond.

Martinez, Gardner, Rasmus and Suzuki spent last week blasting the hardball. Injuries and rest days couldn’t put out their fire.

1)       C Victor Martinez Bos

The Red Sox catcher was 12-for-20 with one home run, five RBI, and finished last week with a league best .600 AVG.

V-Mart had a few days off this past week to rest a sore toe. However, the injury didn’t keep Martinez from having a phenomenal week.

Martinez had a career best four doubles with two RBIs and went 5-for-5 on June 1.

2)       OF Colby Rasmus StL

The Cardinals outfielder was 11-for-22 with three home runs, knocked in nine runners, a stolen base, touched the plate himself eight times, and finished last week with a .500 AVG.

Rasmus has benefited from taking swings after Pujols and Holliday.

After having a slump of a month in May, he looks like he found the magic he had at the start of the season. An injury this past Sunday may throw a roadblock on his hot streak.

3)       3B/1B Troy Glaus Atl

The Braves corner infielder was 8-for-26 with four homeruns, sent ten teammates across the dish, touched the plate eight times himself, and finished last week with a .308 AVG.

Glaus had the most homeruns and RBIs this past week.

Fantasy owner might be taking a second look at the once injury plagued Glaus and consider him on their squads.

4)       3B/1B Kevin Youkilis Bos

The Red Sox corner infielder was 12-for-26 with two homeruns, nine RBI, and finished last week with a .462 AVG.

The “Greek God of Walks” did more than take free passes to first base this past week.

Youkilis had a fantastic game on June 5, hitting a homer and earning two doubles. Add that to his five-game hitting streak and I can assure you that Red Sox Nation couldn’t be happier.

5)       1B Paul Konerko CWS

The White Sox first baseman was 6-for-16 with three home runs, eight RBI, and finished last week with a .375 AVG.

Konerko has been battling Jose Bautista for the top spot in home runs recently. The three bombs he let loose this week keeps him in the running.

6)       OF Brett Gardner NYY

The Yankees outfielder was 9-for-17 with one home run, three RBIs, and finished last week with a .529 AVG.

Usually falling back on the ninth spot isn’t a good thing. Gardner however is especially productive at the bottom of the order.

When Gardner took the second spot he had a terrible May. The month of June is already looking better.

7)       OF Ichiro Suzuki Sea

The Mariners outfielder was 13-for-27 and drove in five teammates, four stolen bases, and finished last week with a .481 AVG.

On June 3, he found his wheels and stole three bases.

Suzuki stepped on the dish for his 1,000 run of his career this past Sunday.

8)       3B Scott Rolen Cin

The Reds third baseman was 12-for-26 with two homeruns, nine RBIs, and finished last week with a .462 AVG.

Rolen had a big day on June 1, going 3-for-5 and blasting two into the stands.

9)       3B Kevin Kouzmanoff Oak

The Athletics third baseman was 10-for-25 with three homeruns, six RBIs, and finished last week with a .400 AVG.

The “Crushin’ Russian” came back in a big way after slumping the last two weeks of May.

10)   1B Miguel Cabrera Det

The Tigers first baseman was 9-for-26 with three homeruns, touched the plate seven times, and finished last week with a .346 AVG.

Cabrera has been all over this week’s highlights for the controversial call costing his teammate a perfect game.

What wasn’t in the highlights was Cabrera’s outstanding performance at the plate. He could take a stab at the Triple Crown if he can continue his blazing streak.

Dallas Braden’s Perfect Game: Longoria’s Code Violation

Dallas Braden has been all over the media by pitching only the 19th perfect game in the history of major league baseball on May 9th, 2010.

The accomplishment rightfully overshadowed a possible code violation, but it should be pointed out.

Braden was in the middle of a perfect game when yet another player disrespected him. In the fifth inning, Oakland was beating the Tampa Bay Rays 4-0. Evan Longoria might have committed a violation of one of baseball’s unwritten rules by attempting to bunt his way onto first thus ending Braden’s perfect game.

Longoria’s accused bush league antic sent him to the dugout. His bunt went foul and forced him to go down swinging. There were plenty of fans who were aware of his attempted breach and let Longoria hear it as he left the plate.

Joe Maddon made the following statement on MLB.com:

“We’re trying to score runs there,” Maddon said. “We’re not just trying to permit him to go into the record books. Our intent is to win the game. And actually if he gets it down, who knows what could have happened. That’s one of those other unwritten rules that I’m not a subscriber to.”

Just because someone doesn’t believe in an unwritten rule doesn’t mean they have the right to violate them.

In Alex Rodriguez’s head Braden wasn’t A-list enough to call him out when he ran across the mound. That doesn’t negate the fact that he knew he was violating the code.

The situation might have been overlooked had it been Ichiro Suzuki with the attempted bunt merely because it’s a common strategy used by the Japanese star. But Longoria is an elite power hitter that never bunts for hits. The fact is the Rays did not want to be the victim of a perfect game.

Longoria stated to the Tampa Tribune:

“I figured I’d try to take the opportunity there, maybe it stays fair and we get a runner on. At that point, you’re really not thinking about the guy’s perfect game or no-hitter; you’re just trying to get back into the game. It was a manageable game. Get somebody on and try and score.”

Critics often question the unwritten rules of baseball often missing the point. Baseball is played with grace and some acts are considered classless. The majority of players adhere to this code of conduct.

The violation would be more clear if it was in the eight or ninth inning. Dallas Braden doesn’t seem to be bothered by it but that might be only due to the fact it did not break up his perfect game.

Fantasy Baseball Pitchers: Top Guns Report (May 12th)

1) Dallas Braden Oak

9.0 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 6 K, Win and 0.00 ERA

Dallas Braden tossed only the 19th perfect game in major league baseball history on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Braden is only 63 percent owned in most fantasy leagues actually saw his ownership decrease 8.4 percent.

His 8.4 percent drop rate is likely due to losing his last two starts prior to this week’s perfect game.

Braden currently holds a 4-2 record with twenty-eight strike outs and a 3.33 ERA this season.

2) Jamie Moyer Phi

9.0 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 5 K, Win and 0.00 ERA.

Moyer is the oldest player in major league history to record a shutout.

His ownership stock however didn’t rise with his accomplishment as he is only owned by 3 percent and saw a 1.7 percent increase.

3) Jered Weaver LAA

7.1 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 7 K, Win and 0.00 ERA

Weaver flirted with a no-hitter until it was broken up by Ken Griffey Jr. in the seventh inning.

Weaver’s stock has gone up considerably since the start of the 2010 season.

He has a 4-1 record, forty-seven strike outs, and a 2.66 ERA for the season.

4) Jon Garland SD

7 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 2 K, Win and 0.00 ERA.

Garland had a stellar outing making this victory his third straight win.

The San Diego pitcher has a 4-2 record, twenty-five strike outs, and has a 1.71 ERA overall this season

Garland is 56 percent owned and saw a giant jump in ownership with 37 percent increase.

5) Brian Burres Pit

7 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 3 BB, 4 K, Win and 0.00 ERA,

The Pittsburgh pitcher looks to have earned the fifth spot on the Pirates’ rotation with two impressive outings.

Zero percent ownership is an indication that no one has noticed his recent success. Burres is a risk to pick-up from the free agency due to a high ERA history.

6) David Price TB

7.2 IP, 3 H, 4 BB, 6 K, Win, and 0.00 ERA

Price’s overall season has been top notch with a 4-1 record, thirty-three strikeouts, and a 1.91 ERA.

7) Mat Latos SD

8.0 IP, 2 H, 0 BB, 9 K, Win, and 0.00 ERA

Latos has a 2-3 record, twenty-six, and a 4.19 overall this season, but it looks like he is turning it around.

Latos is 52 percent owned and saw a 1.5 percent increase with this week’s production.

8) Ubaldo Jimenez Col

7.0 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 4 BB, 5 K, Loss, and 1.29 ERA

This week Jimenez was given a loss despite only allowing two hits and one run. His performance on the mound was as good as any this season regardless of the Rockies inability to provide run support.

There isn’t anyone hotter than Ubaldo Jimenez. In April he has been a highlight reel.

This season he has a 6-1 record, 49 strike outs, and a .093 ERA.

He has been dominant and threw the first no-hitter in Colorado history on April 17th .

9) Jon Lester Bos

15 IP, 9 H, 3 ER, 4 BB, 12 K, 2 Wins, AND 1.80 ERA

The Boston hurler put in two starts this week and when the dust settled he appeared to be the only reliable Red Sox starter to date.

Lester put in 15 innings on the hill and looked impressive against the Yankees.

10) Adam Wainwright StL

14.0 IP, 9 H, 3 ER, 4 BB, 13 ER, Win, AND 1.93 ERA

Wainwright battled with Cole Hamels last week which resulted with a no-decision after an impressive outing.

He earned his fifth win this week giving him a 5-1 overall record with 43 strikeouts and a 2.08 ERA.

2010 Fantasy Baseball: Week Four Major Slump Report

It’s not even close to Halloween, but these performances were scary bad for their teams this week.

1) 3B Chipper Jones, ATL

Braves fans everywhere are shedding a tear for their favorite third baseman. Jones had a terrible week of baseball.

He only had one hit in 20 at-bats, leaving him with a .050 AVG for the week. Since he can’t hit his way to first base, he has been able to force six walks this week.

2) C Victor Martinez, BOS

The Boston Red Sox are losing a lot more than anyone expected. With V-Mart’s production mimicking David Ortiz’s, is there any wonder why?

Martinez only had two hits this week after 17 at-bats. He only had two RBI and finished the week with a .118 AVG.

3) OF/DH Jose Guillen, KC

The Royals have not been a good team in some time, and with Guillen’s production this week, he isn’t helping.

He was 3-for-25 and finished the week with a horrific .125 AVG.

4) 2B Rickie Weeks, MIL

Weeks was 4-for-32 and had a .125 AVG for the week. This week devastated his awesome start and dropped his overall average to .265.

5) C Russell Martin, LAD

Martin only had three hits in 24 tries this past week. The Dodgers catcher was left with a .125 AVG after a nightmare of a week.

6) 1B Lance Berkman, HOU

Berkman was only able to pull off two hits in 15 at-bats. The only light was one of his two hits was a home run, but that didn’t save him from a .133 AVG for the week.

7) OF Juan Pierre, CWS

Pierre is on the list once again. He was only 3-for-22 and only sent two teammates across the plate. A .136 AVG this week wasn’t what the White Sox had in mind when they acquired him after some success with the Dodgers.

8) 3B Alex Rodriguez, NYY

A-Rod takes the place of his teammate Mark Teixeira on the list this week. Rodriguez was 3-for-21 and finished his dismal week with a .133 AVG.

9) DH Hideki Matsui, LAA

The “Thrilla from Godzilla” was more like a baby lizard this week. Matsui was just like his old teammate, Alex Rodriguez, when he hit 3-for-21 this past week.

10) SS Jose Reyes, NYM

Mets superstar Jose Reyes was only 4-for-26 and left the week with a .154 AVG.

Reyes is likely still trying to find his swing after missing most of spring training. Fantasy owners shouldn’t be too worried about the last few weeks.
