Josh Hamilton’s third base coach made a shaky call in ordering Hamilton to try to make a play during the first inning of a game against the Detroit Tigers. The play resulted in a fracture in the humerus bone in his upper arm after he slid head-first into home plate trying to avoid an out.

The Detroit Tigers ultimately won the game and Hamilton stated that he blamed third base coach, Dave Anderson, for calling the play in the first place.

Hamilton has apologized for how he responded to the incident, seemingly out of frustration. In a private meeting with Anderson, he discussed everything that happened during the play and how they could prevent something like this from happening again.

Was he wrong for attacking his coach for the call or should he take responsibility for how he performed the task at hand?

Derrick Williams has officially declared for the NBA draft. While Arizona Wildcats’ fans could not be any sadder, NBA scouts could not be happier. Williams was first thrust into the spotlight because of his performance all throughout the NCAA Tournament.

Most people did not even know his name until they realized how hard it was for some of college basketball’s greatest to keep him from scoring. It is a little scary how strong he is in the paint, while still being able to shoot 56.8% from behind the three-point line.

That combination will be useful everywhere except for Orlando. They already have Dwight Howard. Why would they need another big man?

Kobe Bryant has been fined $100,000 by David Stern, but questions are swirling as to whether or not the punishment he received for the homosexual slurs he blurted out was severe enough.

Stern set out to send a message that the kind of behavior displayed by Bryant during a game against the San Antonio Spurs was unacceptable and would not be tolerated. However, it seems like he took the postseason into deep consideration when deciding if he would suspend Bryant or not.

If Bryant would have been suspended, the Lakers would have fallen below the Dallas Mavericks to take the three seed in the Western Conference. In that case, they would have had to face the Portland Trailblazers, arguably the most dangerous team to face in the first round of the playoffs.
