Candidates for Cubs Managing Job: Who Would Fit Best?

With Lou Pinella announcing he will retire at the end of the Chicago Cubs season, all I hear is conjecture regarding who people think will be the Cubs’ next manager.

There are multiple candidates, but for now, it’s all speculation, and that’s all it’s going to be until it actually happens.

Over the past decade or so, the MLB has had many players who were picked number one, begin to become superstars.
Yesterday was the 2010 MLB Draft, and the Nationals selected Bryce Harper with the first pick. A 17 year old who can basically play any position on the field, including pitcher.

Why I Am Not Sure If Stephen Strasburg Will Be a Success

I am sure that just about every single person in America has heard about Stephen Strasburg’s amazing debut. I was wowed. My family was wowed. Everybody was wowed.

Me and my brother often talk about sports and our opinions, and we agreed on one thing: Strasburg has the same mechanics as pitcher Mark Prior; the pitcher who’s career was murdered by injuries.

When pitching, Strasburg brings his elbow up, the leading cause for Tommy John surgery. He will definitely have some arm problems later in his career, or even early in his career.

That is the reason I am not sure if he will be a success. He has so many great pitches, and he seems like a very smart pitcher. I personally love watching Strasburg pitch, but throwing 100 MPH while bringing that elbow up will definitely cause some trouble sometime in his career.
